Overview
These Terms of Service govern participation in the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar provided by Colorado Dementia Education Institute LLC (“CDEI”). By registering for or attending this seminar, you agree to these terms.
Description of Services
This seminar provides educational training on dementia care practices for healthcare professionals and staff.
This training:
- Meets Colorado dementia education expectations for long-term care staff
- Provides instruction only
By registering for this seminar, participants acknowledge and agree that attendance information may be shared with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) for training verification purposes.
Important:
This seminar does NOT grant certification. Certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) is issued separately through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) and requires a separate application, eligibility verification, and payment to NCCDP.
Training Registration Types
CDEI offers two types of training registration:
- Scheduled Seminars: Fixed-date trainings available for immediate registration through the website
- Group or Facility Training: Custom training sessions requested by organizations and scheduled based on availability and coordination
Registration and Payment
- Full payment is required to reserve a seat in a scheduled seminar.
- Pricing is based on individual or group registration as outlined at time of purchase
- Group registrations must include all participant names at the time of purchase unless otherwise approved
Failure to provide accurate participant information may delay or prevent issuance of completion certificates.
Registration Confirmation
Scheduled Seminars:
Registration is confirmed upon completed payment. A seat is reserved for the selected seminar date. Seminar details, access instructions, and the student handbook will be provided after registration.
Group or Facility Training:
Submission of a request does not guarantee scheduling. Training is not confirmed until all details, including date, format, and group size, are finalized and agreed upon by both parties.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations made 7 or more days prior to the scheduled seminar will receive a full refund
- Cancellations made 2–6 days prior to the seminar will receive a refund minus a $75 administrative fee per participant
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the seminar are non-refundable
- No refunds will be issued for no-shows
- Participant substitutions (transfers) may be allowed with at least 7 days advance notice, must be approved by CDEI, and all replacement participant information must be provided at the time of request. All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted in writing
- Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment within a reasonable processing timeframe
- By completing registration, participants acknowledge and agree to this cancellation and refund policy
CDEI maintains its own cancellation and refund policy. NCCDP certification fees and requirements are separate and governed by NCCDP policies.
Attendance and Certificate of Completion
- Participants must attend the full seminar to receive a certificate of completion
- Participants must have a working camera and microphone.
- Late arrival, early departure, or failure to participate may result in no certificate being issued
- Certificates are issued for training completion only and do not represent certification or licensure
Seminar Format and Materials
Seminars may be delivered:
- Live via Zoom. Participates must have a working camara and Microphone.
- In-person at a designated facility
Materials are provided in digital format only
Recording and Intellectual Property
Recording, photographing, distributing, or reproducing any portion of the seminar or materials is strictly prohibited.
All training materials are the intellectual property of Colorado Dementia Education Institute LLC and may not be reused, shared, or distributed without written permission.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
CEUs for nurses may be available through a third-party provider (InsPAC) for an additional fee.
CDEI does not guarantee CEU approval eligibility for all participants. Participants are responsible for confirming eligibility with their licensing body.
Limitation of Liability
This seminar is for educational purposes only. Colorado Dementia Education Institute LLC does not provide medical, clinical, or legal advice. Participants are responsible for applying information within their scope of practice and in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
Colorado Dementia Education Institute LLC is not liable for any outcomes, decisions, or actions taken based on the training content, nor for certification decisions made by NCCDP.
This seminar meets the education requirement for individuals pursuing Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) certification through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).
Colorado Dementia Education Institute (CDEI) does not issue CDP certification. Certification is awarded separately by NCCDP after application and approval.
Changes to Services
Colorado Dementia Education Institute LLC reserves the right to reschedule or modify seminar dates, format, or content due to unforeseen circumstances.
Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
In the event of rescheduling, participants will be offered an alternative date or credit toward a future seminar.
